Behind Polar Skateboards is none other than Pontus Alv. After his time with Mad Circle and Cliché, for which he travelled all over the world, Pontus Alv retired to his hometown of Malmö in Sweden in 2003.
There, the skateboarder also became the filmmaker Pontus Alv. With his films "Strongest of the Strange" and "In Search of the Miraculous" he directly created two classics and was able to establish himself in the skateboard film scene.
From 2011, the multi-talent put all his energy into the foundation of Polar Skateboards. Thanks to the independent approach and the two videos "The Polar Skate Co. Promo" and "No Complies & Wallrides+shuvits", the popularity of Polar Skate Co. increased quickly and the brand became known far beyond the borders of Sweden. Also following videos like "I like it here inside my mind. "Don't wake me this time." or "We blew It At Some Point" are in no way inferior to their predecessors.
The way of skating shown in the films also had a massive influence on the entire skate scene and inspired many - whether in the choice of tricks or in building their own DIY spots. Pontus Alv also shows his sense of individuality in the composition of the Polar Skate Co. team: Aaron Herrington, Dane Brady, Jamie Platt, Emile Laurent, Nick Boserio, Paul Grund, Roman Gonzales, Shin Sanbongi, Andrew Wilson and the European Skater of The Year 2018: Oskar "Oski" Rozenberg.
