Vans Classics

All Vans Classics are also available as updated skate versions. The Skate Classics from Vans retain their classic silhouette, but are equipped with some features.

The Waffle Sole 2.0 gives the Skate Classics improved grip and the Vans Duracap adds durability. Cushioning and a comfortable fit are provided by the Vans PopCush insole, tongue straps and a revised heel cap, among other features.

The Vans Classics Guide

The Van Doren brothers have made skateboarding history with the Vans Classics shoes. Even outside of skateboarding, the shoes with the waffle pattern have long since arrived. Vans Authentic

It all started with this one! The pattern #44, better known as Vans Authentic, is one of the three original designs from 1966. It was sold twelve times on the very first day of production. The design of the cult shoe has hardly changed to this day.

Because of its vulcanized outsole and lightweight canvas upper, the Vans Authentic is an absolute all-rounder. Depending on the color combination, it fits both the daily skate outfit and suit pants. Like every Vans shoe, the Authentic is a unisex model.

Vans Era

The Vans Era was designed in 1976 as the first Vans skate shoe with Dogtown legends Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. Although visually very close to the Authentic, it has many more skate-specific features.

These include the revolutionary waffle sole for a pronounced board feel and grip, as well as a padded heel area that provides better support and more stability.

Vans Old Skool

Compared to Era or Authentic, the Vans Old Skool has even more features that are suitable for skating. Due to the significantly higher cut and the high lacing, the Old Skool sits securely on the foot. In addition, the processed suede on the toe cap, heel area and eyelet bar provides additional protection against abrasion.

Away from the skateboarding world, the Old Skool established itself primarily in the music scene. Bands like Black Flag, Descendents and other punk bands made the cut number 36 the trendy shoe of the 80s and 90s. No wonder Vans immortalized its trailblazer so often in limited special editions and the shoe is experiencing a revival today.

Vans Slip-On

1977 was not only the birth of the punk movement in England. In that year, the Vans Slip-On also saw the light of day. Initially designed as a link between surf and skate culture, the practical slip-on quickly became the casual leisure shoe of the late 70s.

Without annoying lacing, you could simply put on the Slip-On after surfing and then comfortably ride your skateboard through the streets. The padding on the ankle and the elastic edgings still ensure a firm fit today.

Vans Sk8-Hi

From low cut to high cut, there's no getting around the Vans Sk8-Hi! Arguably Vans' catchiest silhouette, the Sk8-Hi was introduced in 1978 as the Style 38. Based on the Old Skool, the Sk8-Hi protects your ankles from injury with its high cut and on top of that provides more stability when riding.

The proven waffle sole provides perfect grip, making skating with the Sk8-Hi particularly fun. The Ollie area is reinforced by a double seam and extra suede and ensures that this shoe will remain loyal to you for a long time.
