Have you ever wondered which skateboard deck brand is the best? If so, you are certainly not alone. Of course, we don’t have a definite answer for that either. However, based on 2023 data, we can tell you which skateboard decks or brands are the most popular.
To do this, we checked sold decks, brand shop visits, search queries and other factors and created a list of the most popular deck brands. Check out the top 15 skateboard deck brands and find out if the small, independent or even long-established brands are among the best according to our ranking.
Our own brand, skatedeluxe, was not considered for the ranking. Still, we say thank you and appreciate the trust you put in our skatedeluxe decks!

15. Pass~Port
Passport Skateboards from Down Under also secured a spot in the top 15 this year, and it’s well-deserved. Few brands are as consistent in terms of their aesthetic, video quality, and team selection as Passport, making it one of the most popular skate brands in Australia.
14. GX1000
Bomb Hills, not countries – GX1000 has once again lived up to its motto this year! The crew from San Francisco was once again productive this year and not only delivered one of the videos of the year with ‘Your Favourite Things’, but also first-class decks with unmistakable graphics.
13. Carpet Company
DIY culture remained strong in 2024, and luckily, Carpet stays fully committed to the DIY ethos while prioritizing top-notch quality. Clearly, this has resonated with you, and the Carpet Company definitely deserves a mention here!
12. Santa Cruz
Founded in 1973 and still going strong – Santa Cruz Skateboards! The traditional brand with the diverse team around Erik Winkowski, Tom Asta, Justin Sommer and co. makes it into the top 15 this year thanks to reissues, unusual shapes and stylish graphics!
11. Creature
What is green and loves to flash down steep concrete ramps? That’s right, Creature Skateboards! It’s not just Chris Russel who has delivered some serious parts this year, the rest of the team also made themselves prominent in 2024 so it’s no wonder Creature appears here.
10. Toy Machine
Toy Machine has been going strong for over 30 years and continues to stay true to its roots! Ed Templeton’s brand remains as popular as ever, earning the Bloodsucking Skateboard Company a spot at number 10 in our top 15!
9. Hockey
Hockey is likely the brand with the darkest deck graphics right now, and clearly, people are into it. As a result, Fucking Awesome’s sister brand secures a spot in the top 10 once again this year!
8. Palace
Palace Skateboards from London is back in the top 10, this time claiming the number 8 spot. True to form, Palace kicked off the year with unique collaborations, but the team’s standout performances in Blokes 2 show they’ve also evolved on the skateboarding scene.
7. Krooked
Krooked Skateboards too enjoyed a standout year, driven by Mark Gonzales‘ inventive graphics and the dependable high-quality boards synonymous with DLX. The addition of Andrew Wilson as a new pro, combined with the steady contributions from team members like Eddie Cernicky, Una Farrar, and Mike Anderson, undoubtedly played a key role in their success. A well-deserved spot in the top 10 for Krooked!
6. Polar
Polar once again shines in 2024 with one of the best skate videos of the year, in which Emile Laurent in particular made our jaws drop. Unique shapes, unmistakable deck graphics and the right feel for that certain something continue to make Polar Skate Co. one of the hottest brands around.
5. Girl
With over 30 years of history, Girl Skateboards is definitely one of the true traditional brands! So it’s more than pleasing that they made it to number 5 this year. Could the unbeatable team of Sean Malto, Rick McCrank, Breanna Geering, Cory Kennedy, Rowan Davis and many more have had anything to do with it?
4. Heroin
Heroin Skateboards embodies creative freedom and unique shapes like no other brand. Mark Forster’s egg shapes and quirky designs have clearly struck a chord, earning Heroin a well-deserved top spot on this year’s list!
3. Anti Hero
Once again at the forefront – Anti Hero Skateboards, the brand with the iconic Eagle logo. How could it be any different? The brand around Julien Stranger, Frank Gerwer, Grant Taylor & Co. delivers entertaining deck graphics by legendary artists such as Todd Francis, top quality and lots of raw and fast skating!
2. Real
With Ishod, Nicole Hause, Busenitz, and more, Real Skateboards boasts one of the most diverse teams in skating. It’s no surprise that this DLXSF brand has earned a spot in the top three –well deserved!
1. Baker
The iconic Baker letterbox logo is instantly recognizable, and with talents like Reynolds, Spanky, Jacopo, T-Funk, and the rest of the Baker team, their decks have secured a top spot on our list this year. With the release of Baker Has A Deathwish 2, one of 2024’s standout skate videos, Baker Skateboards continues to be a favorite among skaters worldwide.
