First and foremost, the abbreviation HUF stands for the founder of the brand: Keith Hufnagel (RIP). The legendary pro skater founded HUF in 2002 in San Francisco, California. Conceived as a skate store, HUF initially sold shoes, streetwear & accessories of renowned brands in the Bay Area. At this point, HUF designs its own skatewear collections and lifestyle products.

In the beginning, the label made a name for itself with its infamous HUF Plantlife socks. A good 15 years later, HUF is one of the hottest brands in skateboarding and skillfully manages the balancing act between functional and stylish skatewear. HUF is now sold worldwide, prompting it to call itself HUF Worldwide ever since.

The spirit of the brand is maintained by Dylan Rieder and Keith Hufnagel. Both died much too early and are regarded as legends in the skateboard world.
