I bought this trucks for a set up with an oval shaped board above 9" and they actually fit so good being a little smaller than average 8.5" also first time in 30 years to ride a similar size of trucks , good first feeling as I am trying these days , excellent Independent quality for sure
i've reread my previous reviews. on thu'der in particular the bite was right, and the bones rubber doesn't really give the best feeling on thunder. i've skated more indy, and i've forgotten venture, because the feel of the glide and the style of the ceoisiere rhythm are worth more to me than the ease of plating tricks to the detriment of the pleasure in the gesture. my search for a skidpad with mellow styling, a gradual, incisive turn, and last but not least, a lever arm that's quick and easy to use, found the perfect answer in the independant stage 4. i compared everything, ace in 146 excellent feeling, but you sink without wanting to, not good for the ankles and sometimes you miss your timing because no repondant. the grind you slide I mean laterally, vomit the indy 149. and the 144s, you don't slide but you don't have too much feel, and high on narrow doesn't make a good mix in my opinion. the mid inverte kingpins are detedtable in terms of feel and turning and cock, and noise, though very stable on coping. there was better with the titanium mid 144 because kingpin standart, but you have the wheel bite and little feel, and more money in the wallet. but with the stages 4, the rubber silent, responsive and perfectly tight, the first time I didn't tighten a truck, you don't touch anything and everything harmonizes in the movement, the timing, the turn that sends you right back if you want to turn faster or slower, the grind doesn't move, perfect size and nice grind feel with the height/width ratio. i skate this with spit 99 d 54 mm lockin full wheels. the biggest in 54 from the brand. and a real in 31.7 long and 14.12 wb and 8.28. so very incisive on manuals and pops and replasue in switch but technically good palette, and it counterbalances the weight of the wheels and trucks. no higher than 54 mm, which is the highest pop for street riding, but it's fast, so the pops are high and fast, the manuals are sensitive and workable, and above all, my board is an IV, so it's the flattest of the lot.
